The Associate Operational Technology (OT) Security Consultant is responsible for supporting the design, implementation and cybersecurity assessment of operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and utilize best practices and industry standards to guide clients into a resilient cybersecurity state; apply risk-based approach to OT Security.
  • Work closely with senior consultants and client organizations to design and progress their cybersecurity journey.
  • Execute gap assessments, as per our framework, and industry standards.
  • Execute remediation projects onsite at client facilities.
  • Select and deploy technology in support of client goals.
  • Prepare physical and logical network diagrams, network topology and network architecture drawings.
  • Prepare bill of materials for necessary hardware.
  • Configure, stage, and test equipment prior to shipping.
  • Travel to customer site to assist with the commissioning of network and computing infrastructure. Provide training to client teams to ensure success at handover and beyond.
  • Participate in design concepts and implementation strategies for various PLC, DCS, and SIS systems to ensure practical implementation of security standards.
  • Develop expertise in control system security standards such as ISA-62443.
  • Participate in planning and design meetings to ensure standards are addressed and reasonable alternatives are developed if the standards cannot be met.
  • Develop testing plans including FAT and SAT documentation to validate security design.
  • Develop progress summary reports to communicate vendor status and overall project security compliance.

 

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. Automation System training/certification a plus.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience working with IT or Control System technologies.
  • Windows System Administration including Active Directory, Terminal Services, patch management, antivirus management, backup systems, etc.
  • General understanding and knowledge of IT/OT systems, including servers, networks, workstations, and infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (DCS, HMI, PLC) preferably Wonderware or Yokogawa.
  • General understanding of cybersecurity practice areas and industrial control system knowledge is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of networking technology and network hardware and windows server environments including Active Directory and security concepts.
  • Working knowledge of industrial control systems such as PLCs, DCS, SIS, and F&G systems.
  • Must be able to develop documentation and communicate technical concepts and requirements to non-technical project team members.
  • Ability to partner with clients, vendors, and other team members to deliver and manage projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Follow company safety protocols and foster a strong safety culture.
